In this small group workshop we’ll invite that space and practice writing processes to playfully explore what is nudging us for attention. \nSpace is limited. SUMMARY:Writing through Transitions
DESCRIPTION:Transition refers to our internal response to the changes we make and the ones that life brings. The changes can be perceived as positive\, negative\, or a mixture of both\, and can be specific\, time-driven events like a new job or a longer process such as the loss of a loved one or recovery of health. \nCoach and Journal Therapist Leia Francisco made a study of how to use brief writing practices to effectively navigate the ups and downs of a transition process and increase the potential for a more positive next chapter of your life. This workshop will be an opportunity to begin to explore the territory. Bring a journal and a pen. Space is limited. \nIf interested please contact Carolyn.

SUMMARY:Journaling to Clear Life's Clutter: A Compassionate\, Creative Approach - Presentation at Expressive Arts Summit in L.A.\, California
DESCRIPTION:Clutter is the excess baggage that drains life force. It gets in the way of living\, and distracts from meaningful action. Physical and schedule clutter can reflect internal confusion\, decisions we’d like to avoid\, and uncomfortable feelings connected to losses\, perceived injustices\, or mistakes. Clearing clutter refers to the process of weeding out that which no longer serves us—in our homes\, heads\, hearts\, and schedules. It releases and increases our vitality\, clarity\, and sense of well-being.  \nMarie Kondo’s best-selling book\, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying-Up offers a prescriptive process that has inspired and helped many. Others yearn for a more creative\, personalized approach that recognizes the realities of a cluttered lifestyle. \nThis 3-hour workshop uses simple and powerful writing processes to support the clearing of clutter\, inside and out. Together\, we’ll clear a path with creative exercises designed to help transform a personal journal into a wise\, encouraging\, practical\, and playful clutter-clearing companion. We’ll focus on techniques that can be used in an overall plan to move through a clutter project in your own way\, at your own pace. This gentle approach incorporates the power of journal writing for healing\, growth and change. It can be used at home with adolescents and adults and in a variety of clinical and educational settings. No prior journal experience is needed. \nThis is a workshop that is part of an Expressive Arts Summit being held  in Los Angeles\, CA March 30 – April 2\, 2017. The exact time of the workshop on March 30 has not yet been solidified. Please see the event website for more details.

SUMMARY:Clearing the Clutter: A Sacred Act - An Introductory Workshop
DESCRIPTION:As we travel through various chapters and changes we tend to accumulate objects\, activities\, beliefs and stances that block our growth instead of supporting us. Our clutter\, inside and out\, can be a source of shame and overwhelm. This one-hour interactive presentation explores how we can approach the challenge of clearing it with creativity\, self-compassion\, and spiritual guidance. Once placed in a sacred context this potentially burdensome task can be meaningful and transformative. Participants in this workshop will have an opportunity to be part of a more in-depth six week class exploring this territory. \n
